Sponsored entries for low income writers

Since 2018 over 200 low income writers have received free entry for Bath Novel Awards.

Our gratitude to Kit de Waal for her generosity and assistance in establishing our sponsorship scheme and 2020 Bath Children’s Novel Award winner Ruth Moore for sponsoring children’s writers for 2021’s Bath Children’s Novel Award.

The Bath Novel Awards are solely funded by entry fees. Our primary costs are: reader fees; the £6,000 prize fund for winning authors and administration. The latter is provided pro bono for the sponsorship scheme. All donations go towards the cost of reader reports on low income applicants’ manuscripts.
