Sponsored entries for low income writers

Since 2018 hundreds of low income writers have received free places for our awards.

Our gratitude to Kit de Waal for her generosity and assistance in establishing our sponsorship scheme.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A SPONSORED ENTRY PLACE

Submit your novel via our online entry form selecting the “sponsored entry application” option in the entry fee payment details section.

Should applications exceed the number of sponsored places, the most promising novels will be selected.

If longlisted, applicants will be contacted and must be able to provide proof of financial eligibility such as: Universal Credit; Personal Independence Payment; Disability Living Allowance; full-time study; full-time carer. All details will be kept entirely confidential.

CAN YOU SUPPORT LOW INCOME WRITERS?

The Bath Novel Awards are solely funded by entry fees. If you are able to sponsor the entry fee for a writer on a low income you can find details about how to do so here. 100% of donations go towards the cost of supporting writers on a low income.
