Announcing the Bath Children’s Novel Award 2022 Longlist

Established in 2013, the Bath Novel Awards are two £3,000 international prizes for emerging novelists.

The Bath Children’s Novel Award is for manuscripts written for children or teens and we are delighted to announce 2022’s longlist.

First of all, we’d like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who entered. The standard of entries was incredibly high with a record 1,218 submissions by authors in 40 countries. This year’s list is 21 books strong and brimful of potential including picture book texts, children’s novels and YA.

As submissions are read “blind” we’ll be keeping authors’ names under wraps until judging is complete. The shortlist, as decided by Junior Judges aged seven to seventeen, will be revealed on January 19th 2023 with the winning book, as judged by Amber Caravéo of Skylark Literary Agency, to be announced in February.

In the meantime, many congratulations to the authors of this year’s 21 standout manuscripts …
