We are delighted to reveal the final manuscripts in contention for The Bath Novel Award 2016. Our aim is to spotlight the most exciting emerging novelists and this year’s shortlist includes exceptionally accomplished writing alongside breathtakingly original books.
Four novels have been selected from a longlist of 39 and an original pool of over a thousand entries by writers in 42 countries. Their settings range from a murderous school reunion in Norfolk, to the Nazi camps of eastern European during WW2, and from a futuristic London full of assassins to deluded love in a beachy Japanese suburb.
The winner of The Bath Novel Award 2016 as judged by Susan Armstrong of Conville & Walsh will receive £2,000, with the runner up awarded £400 editorial or mentoring support by Cornerstones Literary Consultancy.
As our judges read “blind” we’ll be keeping the shortlistees’ identities under wraps until the winner is announced on July 7th, but in the meantime, many congratulations to the writers of these four standout titles:
FRIEND REQUEST (Women’s Psychological Thriller)
TESTAMENT (Literary Historical)
THE GOD BULLET (Young Adult Science Fiction Thriller)
YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL (High-end Commercial)
